and England in my lineage, I honour them through my life and work by making textile designs

My Italian ancient royalty family inspires me with velvets and silks of the highest quality,
coloured with richly complex and versatile colours of the natural palette.
Henry Gastineau, an ancestor from England, achieved success with watercolours and engravings,
shown in London at the Tate Museum. I felt astonished to learn this after working with gold metallic silkscreen motifs,
vellum illustrations & pearlescent watercolours.
My French forebears inspire me with the blossoms and garden filigree motifs on pale blue silk taffeta.
Italy, Ireland, and Norway ancestors' inspire me with the rugged and colourful marble stone featured in my work.
In my valiant efforts to build an eternal legacy for my family,
I am inspired by my ancestor Matilda of Tuscany, la Gran Contessa, who ruled well her territory
with her extraordinary leadership and intelligent resilience.
