 A fabulous visit to Manhattan resonates with me now. Seeing the MET's show of the Art of Pietre Dure one of the highlights of my life. I adore going to the Opificio delle Pietre Dure on via Alfani in Florence, a beautiful resource for this artwork and the library wall of stones upstairs a veritable treasure of exquisite colours.

My daily work increasing skills with colour and motif makes me dream of panels of silk, blossoms, birds and gold leaf. Powerful memories of seeing the Jacopo Ligozzi show at the Palazzo Pitti in Florence, Italy and De Gournay papers at a showroom in West Hollywood inspires a new design imperative. I paint quatrefoil pages of silk with pearlescent colours and delicate motifs.
