The composition, precision and polishing of stone artwork coupled with the intricate delicacy of the butterfly floral design in ethereal onyx looks beautiful only after hours of intense work. In Florence I stood in a pietre dure atelier looking at their arduous technique for cutting and polishing and the sketches for such designs. capture my design eye right now. I can see my large marble stone silk scroll layered with a poetic silkscreen motif like this one gracing a grand room. I am in love with silk, colour, light, decorative elements and the energy of creation! **** Honoured to be chosen as a Showcase presenter for Costume Colloquium VI ~ Fashion in Textiles, Creativity in Context Florence, Italy 14-18 November 2018 **** |
